Dishes Remeniscent of Pizza
- 1 batch of Pizza Dough
- Sauce of your choice, in this case a Mushroom Bacon Cheeseburger Sauce with Basil and Tomatoes
- Shredded cheese of your choice, any spices or fresh herbs or anything else you might want to add

Press dough out flat onto back of floured sheetpan. Spread a thin layer of sauce and less cheese than you’d think (OK, less cheese than I would think) along with anything else you might want. Basil? Peppers? MmmmAnchovies?

Now roll it up across the long side like a jellyroll or yule log. Tuck the ends and seal the seams, flip it over seam side down and poke some bigger holes than I did to let pressure escape.

At this point, chuck it in at 375°F for 35 minutes or so. I took it out about 10 minutes early and brushed it with a bit of butter and sprinkled on some garlic powder. It burst out the sides but if I could only code smells…
Not feeling it? Something a bit more finger-foody? How about Pizzabons?
Stop short of poking steam holes in the stromboli and instead stick it in the fridge for half an hour or so. This will firm up the dough so it’s easier to cut.
